Florida Golf game Course Review

The Legends at Orange Lake Resort

The Legends is a iv-star Arnold Palmer design, and is the premier layout of the Orange Lake Resort. Orange Lake boasts upscale condominium mode accommodations, villas and time share units, along with a full array of amenities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, mini golf, workout facility, meeting/conference areas, dining options and more than. The golf game complex features 36 holes of championship golf, the Legends Walk - a lit par three nine-pigsty course that takes tee times until 9 PM, plus Cranes Bend - a par 30 executive style 9-pigsty blueprint. This review features photos and clarification of the Legends Course. For photos and info nigh Cranes Bend, Legends Walk, and the new resort course (The Reserve) - curl down on this page...

The Legends opened in 1998 with 2 distinctive nine pigsty designs - a links open up style front nine, plus a dorsum side that features tree lined fairways and some rather formidable h2o hazards. The front winds through the resort community, while the finishing ix features seclusion amidst Florida pines, imperial oaks and dense natural areas. H2o comes into play on four holes going out, and on seven holes coming in and at that place are over fifty soft sand bunkers/waste matter areas situated along the fairways or greenside. Hole number 4 on the Links (forepart nine) is the longest at the Orange Lake circuitous - a par five that plays to 600 yards.

Five sets of tees beget golfers with opportunities to play to distances and slopes measuring 7072 yards/132 slope, 6665 yards/129 slope, 6263 yards/124 slope, 5780 yards/120 gradient and 5188 yards with a 120 slope for women playing from the forrard sets. On form 150 yard stakes are visible on all par fours and fives, 100 and 200 yard blocks are positioned in the fairways, and colour coded flags indicate the twenty-four hour period's pin placements.

Wide fairways along the landscaped, rolling terrain provide significant landing zones on most holes on the Links nine, and the putting surfaces are large and undulating throughout. The four par threes on this championship class are an interesting group, some with stone retaining walls fronting the greens, which remainder beyond treacherous water hazards. On the back side (Pines nine) golfers will encounter some narrow openings along tightly designed fairways - similar to the archetype courses in North Carolina. The finishing hole on the Legends is the near memorable - a tight 440 yard par 4 that bends right to left with water to the left and a huge bunker fronting the narrow green complex - a bang-up finish to a wonderful golf feel.

The Legends features its own clubhouse, with pro shop, dining/lounge expanse, and locker rooms with showers. There is a grass range on property besides as a large practise green. Too on the Orange Lake property is a lit driving range (in the procedure of renovation in the fall of 2005) plus the "Swings the Thing" Golf Schoolhouse - directed by Top 50 Instructors Rick McCord and Dick Farley, and rated among the 25 best golf game schools in America by Golf Mag.
